Morning: Meet Your Guide & Enter the Rainforest
Meet your private guide and field team in Bukit Lawang, prepare your belongings and receive a short rainforest briefing.
Trekking normally begins around 08:30 to 09:00 when conditions allow.
Once inside the rainforest, your guide will introduce you to the environment while looking for signs of wildlife activity, including animal tracks, feeding signs, bird calls, insects, reptiles and movement in the canopy.
Late Morning: Orangutan Tracking & Wildlife Observation
Continue through the rainforest while your guide uses local field knowledge to look for orangutans and other wildlife.
Wildlife moves freely in its natural habitat, so sightings depend on the conditions of the day.
If something interesting is discovered, your private group can slow down and spend more time observing.
Midday: Lunch in the Rainforest
Stop at a suitable location for lunch and a proper rest.
Seasonal tropical fruit may also be provided depending on the selected program and availability.
Afternoon: Continue Exploring
Continue through selected rainforest trails.
The route may be adjusted according to wildlife activity, weather, trail conditions, physical ability, group interests and safety.
Late Afternoon: Jungle Taxi
When included in the selected program and river conditions allow, return toward Bukit Lawang by Jungle Taxi.
The river journey normally begins around 15:00 to 16:00, although timing remains flexible.
Arrive back in Bukit Lawang in the late afternoon.

Private transportation can be arranged according to your travel plans.
For guests travelling from Medan, pickup can be arranged from approximately 06:00 when appropriate for the selected itinerary. Pickup from Kualanamu International Airport can also be arranged.
If your flight arrives too late to begin the rainforest journey comfortably, we can coordinate your transfer and accommodation first, with trekking beginning the following morning.
After completing your rainforest experience, onward transportation can also be arranged to your hotel in Bukit Lawang, Medan, Kualanamu International Airport or another destination.

Meals During Your Day
This experience does not include an overnight stay in the rainforest.
Lunch is enjoyed at a suitable location during the trek, with time to rest and take in the surroundings. Seasonal tropical fruit may also be provided depending on availability and the selected program.
Drinking water is provided during the rainforest experience.
A Flexible Introduction to the Rainforest
Expect a full day of private rainforest exploration at a pace adapted to your group.
The journey may include orangutan tracking, wildlife observation, rainforest interpretation and a Jungle Taxi river return when included and conditions allow.
Routes and timing remain flexible because weather, trail conditions, river conditions and wildlife activity can change throughout the day.
Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.
